Unicef – Unicef headquarters is the initiating partner in this project. Joint Monitoring Program (JMP) staff at headquarters manage the project ensuring timely implementation. The JMP staff also coordinate and facilitate the project mentor group and monitors project outputs. Unicef also provides technical backstopping.

Unicef Country Offices – facilitate country level support to both the national platform and its host organisation. They also act as catalysts to bring the local stakeholders together.

Nationally Established Platforms – each platform is composed of a team of four staff:

  • A demographer/data analyst;
  • A communication specialist/journalist;
  • A water sector professional; and
  • An operations manager.

This group is the main implementing unit in each pilot country.

Host Organisations – each platform has an associated host organisation whose role it is to house the platforms, expedite their logistical requirements and recruit the platform teams.

A Mentor Group – The mentor group consists of two Unicef JMP staff and three water and sanitation professionals, (one for each platform), able to provide the platforms with additional access to technical expertise and current thinking. Country mentors are the first line of support for each platform and monitor and provide quality assurance of platform products.
